Close Call - 1

Yet another series.....

This will about common ENGLISH words having CLOSE MEANINGs....i mean VERY close meaning...i have been perplexed by them since god knows when which leads to wrong usage. The funny part is that hardly anybody is aware of that or i should say less people releases the speaker's or for tht matter their own mistakes while using these words.

M not trying to be ur english teacher...infact during the course i myself will be learning them too. Will try to make this series as user friendly as possible. Will try to post as many such words as possible.

Will not promise to post them weekly...but yes as soon as it clicks me i will not hesitate to share it with u.....

Ever throught what is the difference between

constitute, comprise and consist

Constitute - be part of a whole

A cricket team constitute 4 bowlers.

Comprise - Be made up of, make up

A cricket team comprise of 6 batsmen, 4 bowlers and a wicket-keeper. [makin it a team of all required11 players]

Consist - have essential feature, be composed of

A cricket team consist of 4 left arm bowler. [which is the feature of this team which others rarely has..mostly it is right arm bowlers ]

Look up in the dictionary if u r not comfortable with the sentences....customize it...n share it...i will love if u find a mistake in above explaination.......
